07/10/08 – Daily News ช่วยเหลือนักเรียนหลังจากเกิดภัยสึนามิ คุณปุ๋ย ภรณ์ทิพย์ นาคหิรัญกนก ไซม่อน อดีตมิสยูนิเวิร์ส ได้เดินทางถึงสนามบินนานาชาติภูเก็ตพร้อมคุณแม่และเพื่อนๆเพื่อเยียมเยียนและมอบของใช้ที่จำเป็นให้แก่เด็กกำพร้ากว่า 100 คน ณ โรงเรียนเยาววิทย์ อำเภอกะปง จังหวัดพังงา ซึ่งจังหวัดพังงานั้นได้รับผลกระทบจากสึนามิเมื่อปี 2004 มากที่สุด โดยดำเนินการผ่านทางมูลนิธิ Angels Wings นั้น คุณปุ๋ยได้บริจาคอุปกรณ์เครื่องใช้ที่จำเป็น รวมถึง เสื้อผ้า ผ้าเช็ดตัว คอมพิวเตอร์และเงินทุนจำนวนหนึ่งสำหรับโครงการอาหารกลางวันของโรงเรียน นอกจากนี้ คุณปุ๋ยยังได้มอบเช็คเงินสดจำนวน 1 ล้านบาท เพื่อสนับสนุนในการจัดหารถโรงเรียนเพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกในการเดินทางของเด็กๆอีกด้วย คุณปุ๋ยได้แสดงให้เห็นถึงความห่วงใยที่มีต่อเด็กๆเสมอมา คุณปุ๋ยเดินทางมาเยี่ยมจังหวัดพังงาและภูเก็ตเป็นประจำทุกปี เธอได้กล่าวว่า เธอรู้สึกประทับใจกับความช่วยเหลือที่เด็กๆได้รับเป็นอย่างมาก “การฟื้นตัวจากหายนะนั้นไม่ได้ใช้เวลาแค่หลายเดือนหากแต่เป็นหลายปี” คุณปุ๋ยกล่าว เธอกลัวว่าหลังจากความช่วยเหลือได้หลั่งไหลไปสู่เด็กๆในช่วงแรกแล้ว ผู้คนก็จะหันเหความสนใจไปสู่ปัญหาอื่นต่อไป และเด็กๆเหล่านี้จะต้องดิ้นรนต่อไปในอนาคต อย่างไรก็ตาม คุณปุ๋ยรู้สึกโล่งใจที่ได้เห็นการเติบโตของชุมชนและเด็กๆก็ได้มีชีวิตที่ดีมีความสุข อดีตมิสยูนิเวิร์สได้เดินทางจากสหรัฐอเมริกามาเพื่อดำเนินงานการกุศลของเธอ แต่เธอยังได้แบ่งเวลาเพื่อพักผ่อนในประเทศไทยพร้อมกับสามี คุณ Herb Simon ลูกชายอายุ 4 ขวบ Sean Robert […]
